GOT PAINT? We'll take it, as long as it's less than two years old, almost a full can, and has never been frozen. Call the store for details...or better yet, come visit. We'd love to show you around. The first thing that new visitors say when they walk in our door, "Wow!"

What is a ReStore?
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore sells reusable house building and home improvement materials to the public. The store accepts donated goods which are sold at 50%-70% off the retail value. All proceeds from the sale of donations help place families in affordable shelter in the Greater Pittsburgh area. The ReStore provides an environmentally and socially responsible way to keep good, reusable materials out of the waste stream while providing funding for Habitat’s community improvement work. All of the stores are different...be sure to visit the other stores in our area to get a full selection of merchandise. (see map)
Volunteers work every aspect of the ReStore including customer service, picking up donations, and sorting donated goods.
The store is open to the public
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
pending volunteer availability.
ReStore location:
1635-B South Braddock Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15218
Take Exit 77 off I-376 East and follow the signs to
Edgewood Towne Centre. We are located in the
shopping center next to Burton's Total Pet, across from KMart.

Creative Opportunities: If you have a way you can assist us that’s not listed here, let us know! We’re looking for fresh ideas and innovative ways to involve volunteer staff. Volunteers may be cross-trained in other sections as requested by ReStore Manager.
Weekly shifts run from 9 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
- Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays we are open to the public and the emphasis is placed on customer service.
- Tuesdays we are closed to the public. Volunteers focus on pricing, cleaning, testing, and merchandising donations.
It’s easy to get involved! Please email dmorris@pittsburghhabitat.org for more info on how to become a ReStore volunteer staff member. Or call 412-351-0512 ext. 14
Getting Started…
- Every volunteer must complete a Waiver of Liability and sign that they have read our Volunteer Handbook. Both will be provided at your orientation.
- Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to volunteer in the ReStore. Volunteers age 14-17 must have a parent/guardian sign their Waiver of Liability on their behalf.
- Volunteers should plan to arrive fifteen (15) minutes before their shift begins. The entrance for volunteers is the same as customers, the glass front doors through the blue lobby. Volunteers should sign in at the break room, then report to the Manager upon arrival.
- We ask volunteers to schedule themselves in our calendar 4 weeks out. Then, if a volunteer is unable to work the shift they signed up for, they should call 412-351-0512 ext. 14 as far in advance as possible.
- Volunteers are responsible for their own lunch. A break room with a refrigerator and microwave is available, and there are several inexpensive places to eat around the Edgewood Towne Centre.
- Volunteers are responsible for any personal possessions they choose to bring.
- Dress for volunteers is casual (t-shirts and jeans). Wear clothing you can get dirty, including sturdy boots or closed-in shoes and work gloves. Sandals are not permitted.
Volunteer as a Group
Bring your work, church, social or school group to the ReStore for a full day or a half day of service. Groups usually work on projects such as resetting shelves, organizing merchandise, creating new and fun displays and signage, or pricing and stocking large donations.
Please call 412-351-0512 ext. 14 or e-mail dmorris@pittsburghhabitat.org to schedule your group. We can accommodate small groups with short notice, and ask for at least two weeks’ notice for groups of 10 or more.
